Listings Vs Posts

Hi All,

I have recently moved from Joomla to WP. Still getting the ropes and understanding how the system works.

My old setup on WordPress replied on Mosets Tree which is a directory component that was very flexible. I used it to post articles as it allowed the right look and feel. Anyway I used FG Joomla and the plugin for Mosets and it allowed me to import however it needed a Types plugin to be installed for the custom fields I had and then it imported it into listings which is a side component like posts.

I can see there is a tool which will convert the listings but will need some assistance to move them into the right catagories but this looses the custom fields which I will need to work out how to map.

I was thinking is there much of a difference between the two post types and which is better for SEO, my template seems to load posts on the home page and not the listings, I am guessing something needs be changed in the settings? for going forward is it better I migrate all to posts or leave in listings before the site goes into full production
