I mentioned this in another thread because I stumbled upon it while trying to solve another issue, but I thought I should start a separate topic about it.

In 4.1.4, I can no longer toggle the Timezone mode (local vs. sitewide) setting on my Tribe Events settings page. I try choosing “Use the local timezones for each event” and saving, but it reverts to “Use the sitewide timezone everywhere” every time. I originally had it set to local, but now I’m stuck with site because I toggled it.

I checked the database for the tribe_events_timezone_mode setting and it does set correctly (“event” or “site” as applicable) under the option tribe_events_calendar_options. However, I noticed a new option that did not exist in the previous version of the plugin: tribe_settings_sent_data. Under this option, tribe_events_timezone_mode is always set to “site” regardless of the setting I have chosen in my admin settings area.

    Hi,

Sorry for the issues you are having. I can help troubleshoot this with you.

It looks like there is a bug in 4.1.4 with the settings.

We recommend downgrading to 4.1.3 to fix the issue for now.

You can download older versions of the core plugin here:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/the-events-calendar/developers/

And follow these steps to manually update the plugin:

    https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/manual-updates/

This process does not delete or change events or their settings.

Let us know if this helps the issue.

    Thanks

It’s not a huge deal for me. That setting doesn’t really affect my particular site since all my events are in the same timezone as my site. It maybe an issue for users who have events in different timezones. However, I’m pretty sure if one’s setting was already set to “local,” it should stay that way upon update. It’s changing it to “site” to test something for another issue that made me realize I couldn’t change it back after that.

Also, under the option tribe_events_timezone_mode, the tribe_events_timezone_mode value does change appropriately even though it’s not reflected in the admin settings area. It’s the tribe_settings_sent_data option that’s causing a problem with what’s displayed in the admin area after saving changes.

That’s good to hear that it does not affect your live site. The tribe_settings_sent_data thing is new to us and clearly does not have the kinks worked out yet.

I already responded in length to your other topic so I’ll just defer to that: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/incorrect-greenwich-time-difference-in-schema-startend-dates
