There was a new update to the plugin today and it didn’t fix the problem. My theme still has a non-appearing slider when the plugin is activated….
This plugin does NOT work with the newest version of WordPress! People need to be aware it might break your slider and who knows what else this plugin will do to your theme.
I will have to replace all my galleries with another plugin unless they fix this soon.
(It has never happened before, I have used this plugin for years.)
@shellius – that isn’t an accurate statement. Our plugin is absolutely compatible with the latest version of WordPress. If you were to switch your active theme to a WordPress default theme, deactivate all other plugins so only NextGEN Gallery is active, you will see that our plugin is in fact compatible. Now, there may be a theme or plugin conflict. If so, please report that conflict to us here: http://www.imagely.com/report-bug . Please also contact the developer of the theme/plugin to make them aware of the conflict as well.

You are right, it is compatible with WordPress. It is not compatible with many of my premium themes or sliders, so for that reason I can no longer use it.
People need to be aware that the gallery plugin breaks sliders. This is an old issue, if you look it up online. It has been breaking sliders for years. If I had known that I would never have started to use it.
That means there is a problem with the plugin itself, so it shouldn’t be blamed on just whatever themes no longer work with it due to the slider issue.
Thank you @shellius – we do what we can to be as compatible as possible with as many themes and plugins as we can. But it is virtually impossible to be 100% compatible with all plugins and themes considering how many are out there – all created by different developers of different skill levels of coding – updated/changed at unknown times. What would be most helpful is if you and anyone else who reads this, please submit these conflicts you find to us directly here: http://www.imagely.com/report-bug . Provide the name, link to the plugin .zip and as much detail about the plugin/theme conflict as possible. If there is a major issue and many people are experiencing it – please bring it to our attention rather than pointing the finger at us telling others not to use our plugin. Help us help everyone else! 🙂
