Protected Posts Showing up as "latest posts"

I have a few protected posts that require a password and that is specifically because I don’t want them available to the public, but rather a few select individuals who have the password. The issue is these posts still show up on the home page as a “latest post”. The only way for me to remove them is to change the page status to private but then it’s only available to me.

Any suggestions on how to fix this?
