I am using a child theme of Twenty Fourteen for my first WordPress site. Reading around, I have seen advice that the child theme should have an images folder. But as uploaded media goes into the Uploads folder, is there a requirement for the child theme to have an images folder as well?

  • in my personal opinion, an /images/ folder is useful if you want to use images in the CSS or for any images referred from within the theme’s structure

That makes sense. I’m creating a site for a model aircraft association, so that unlike the present site, running it won’t need coding skills.
What triggered the question was where to put the site’s logo – and I now think that’s best in an images folder. Less likely to be messed up inadvertently by the webmaster.

    Thanks for the helpful reply.
