Every file deleted during scan?

    I started a scan and then the site crashed on a hostgator server. When I logged in via ftp, every file in the site directory was gone. Database was left in tact.

    On a bluehost server on a different day, I was upgrading wordpress of a different domain using the one-click update. Same thing happened. The site crashed and then all the files were completely nuked.

    Both installs had wordfence running. Any ideas?

    Hello hochingj,
    Wordfence does not delete files unless you ask it to so I’m not sure how Wordfence could have caused this. Have you tried asking either host why all your files disappeared? They should be able to see what caused the files to disappear.

    I asked them. I’m pretty sure it’s not wordfence. I’m just looking at all plugins that both sites had in common. Thanks!
