    Thanks for the report, fanalejr.

It looks as though LinkedIn may have changed their API to no longer accept punctuation or numbers as part of the count API URL. I couldn’t find any documentation to confirm this, but these requests fail:

    https://www.linkedin.com/countserv/count/share?format=jsonp&url=http%3A%2F%2Fexample.com&callback=123

    https://www.linkedin.com/countserv/count/share?format=jsonp&url=http%3A%2F%2Fexample.com&callback=a_b_c

    Where as this one succeeds:

    https://www.linkedin.com/countserv/count/share?format=jsonp&url=http%3A%2F%2Fexample.com&callback=abc

I’ve logged this issue with the StudioPress team, and a fix is being tested.

I noticed this too! Great that you reported it already Nick. Thanks.

1.0.7 was just released and should address that issue.

The LinkedIn-button isn’t showing in my sharing bar, even after I’ve updated to 1.0.7.

@hanwall, can you share a link to your site. We did a good bit of testing. It is possible there is a file permission issue that prevents the button from working due to the changes we had to make to allow the button to continue to work.

I’m in same boat as hanwall; did the update to the plugin (which hung forever, wasn’t sure it worked, but not showing any pending updates anymore), but the LinkedIn button still isn’t showing back up. Here’s my site: http://insight.equifax.com/

oh weird, the release didn’t tag correctly. I need to review what happened and make sure it updates correctly. I’ll do a 1.0.8 update in a few minutes to address what happened. Short version is the files are there but in a subdirectory instead of replacing the files that were changed.

ok, found the issue. The git repo and WP.org svn were out of sync. We were already at 1.0.7 so when I tried to tag the new release for 1.0.7 it did some weird stuff with the directory instead of updating. The correct fix is in 1.0.8 which I just tagged for release. I will verify it correctly packaged that release here in a few minutes when it updates in the repo, but the directory structure looks correct. I’ve also fixed the change log so it correctly shows the update we did for 1.0.7. I believe everything is in order now. Sorry for the confusion.

Heading off to update the git repo so it is all in sync so this doesn’t happen again.

Just wanted to update here. I was able to verify the 1.0.8 version did package correctly and is showing update available in WP sites. I’ve also got reports that this did resolve the issue for at least one person.

Issue resolved for me – thanks!

Great Nick, the LinkedIn button is back and performing as usual.

Is it correct that the button shows no count anymore?

    Thanks!

Sorry for answering this late. It works just fine now! πŸ™‚ My button shows count.

Just for your information, it worked correctly now, even before I made the update to 1.0.8, so something must have happend anyway, since it didn’t show yesterday.

However, I’m very glad it works! Thank you! πŸ™‚

Thanks for letting us know this solved things for you all.

@bart van Maanen The twitter count is currently not available, but you should still see counts for LinkedIn as long as your server supports the new method we’re using to get the data.

I’m seeing counts on the LinkedIn button on this post: http://bartvanmaanen.nl/wordt-verwacht-meer-toekomst/. If there was another post you were having trouble with, please feel free to share a link.

Thanks, yes I know about the Twitter count. On another site the LinkedIn count does’nt show: http://www.beeldbedrijf.nl/snelle-website/. That post has been shared on LinkedIn.
