  • I previously had wordpress-2.3.3. installed and with same plugin wordpress-automatic-upgrade, I went ahead and went through all the steps to upgrade.

At the point where it asked me to backup my database, I was pretty much stuck at the “Database update is required”, hours later it was still stuck at that screen. I didn’t even make it to the “Activate plugins…”

Right now I’m doing a clean upload of the new 2.5 version. Is anybody else having any issues with upgrading with this plugin?

Ugh, still having issues. I was able to go back to my previous install and started the wpau process again and then I end up on the plain page “Database Upgrade Required

Your WordPress database is out-of-date, and must be upgraded before you can continue.

The upgrade process may take a while, so please be patient.
    Upgrade WordPress”

So um.. that’s where I’m stuck. I’ll keep doing this but if anybody has any idea where to go from here, just give me a nudge. Please and thank you.

Never mind, it finally refreshed and worked after! Finally!

what should happen after i click activate the plugin?

what should happen after i click activate the plugin?

    The plugin becomes active 🙂
It depends what plugin it is. In most cases you won’t see anything, just notice the functionality (for example with the “Search Everything” plugin), sometimes something obviously happens, because the plugin effects your dashboard or admin. Sometimes a plugin makes extra settings under “manage” or “settings”.
    Like I said, it depends.
It should always says on top of your page “plugin activated” though.

i was asking about the [Plugin wordpress-automatic-upgrade] plugin… what should happen after i activate the [Plugin wordpress-automatic-upgrade] plugin? it does say activated, but then nothing, and it looks like my wordpress is still 2.5 beta?

Once you activate the plugin, you’ll have to go to “Manage” and you’ll see in the secondary menu, “Automatic Upgrade” and you can take it from there. You’ll have 2 options: (1) manually go through each step and (2) automated process. I hope that helped you.
