On 4th May I installed Simple Cache on a site and set the “Expire the cache after” value to 60 minutes. Compression scrambled the signal comprehensively so I left that off.

In the meantime I updated to version SC 1.4

This morning I was alerted to the fact that visitors who are not logged in were seeing a version of the page from 5th May.

If it tells you anything, the tag at the bottom was:
<!– Cache served by Simple Cache 1462491359 –>

As this site has had a couple of different home pages since then this is not a good thing.

I pressed the “Clear Cache” button, and the cache has now updated, but my expectation was that it would happen automatically every hour.

Is there something I might be missing?

Thanks Taylor, I’ve just updated so hopefully the client will be happy again.

It has occurred to me that I may have misunderstood what the setting “Expire the cache after” does. Is this documented anywhere?
