    Hello fellow WP users,

I’m seeking guidance in finding the right plugin for my needs. I’m looking to find a plugin that is like a customer portal. HOWEVER I would like to have it where I can create the user(s) on the back-end and then email them their credentials or something another. Once they have that I would like to have it where they could essentially “Schedule a Pickup” (I’m in the scrap metal recycling business) And based on our schedule either allow them to schedule a pickup or not.

Added bonus: We do weekly price lists (as the market changes) and I would like to send the price lists to each customer portal every week if that’s possible. And maybe archive the previous sent ones.

Does anyone know of any close plugins that would solve this?

    Thanks!!

    Regards,

    Randy

Try searching for “booking” or “reservation” plugins. It doesn’t have to be related to what you’re doing as long as the underlying logic is the same. For example, you might be able to re-purpose a restaurant reservation plugin for your own needs.

That may take care of one of your needs, you can piece together other needs with other plugins or some custom coding. For example, WP already offers the option to email newly created users. It’s possible to filter the email content to provide additional information that was entered in a custom field added to the new user page.

One could also code WP to do mass emailings, but doing so could get your domain blacklisted as a spammer. You’re better off using one of the newsletter email services for this.
