Help, am I creating a WP website right?

I’m creating a fashion website let’s say the domain is fashionsite.com

I’d like to sell different female-oriented items such as dresses, blouses, shoes, etc.

This is the homepage layout:

Five posts: dresses, blouses, shoes, belts, handbags.
Each post has a large clickable picture of each item that redirects them to a page where they would have more items to browse. For example, from the homepage, I write a short post on dresses:”Cool dresses for the hot summer, CLICK HERE for more of them.”

Now do I go to my cpanel and create a subdirectory, fashionsite.com/dress, and link both the dress picture and CLICK HERE to it?

Am I doing this right?

I don’t know if:

1- I explained it well.

2- I’m wasting my time creating a new subdirectory.
