    Hi All,

I am moving a large site with aprox 10,000 posts from Joomla to WordPress, when the site was built we used a third party componant with offered custom fields and the templaes etc. One of my custom fields is a video link, simply the user would input a specific link into the custom field and it display in the template as a iframe.

    eg
Back End: Field Name: Movie, Field Value : http://www.bbc.com/v2/111

Front End: Article and and where the field is supposed to be placed in the template it does not echo the fields name just value but that insidde a custom tag ie “<iframe location “VALUE Here” iframe size 50%>

Hopefully you get the idea, I am wondering what plugin you would recomend for this use?

  • To create the ‘custom fields’, I would be using Advanced Custom Fields:
    https://wordpress.org/plugins/advanced-custom-fields/

To handle the input, have a look at WPAllImport: https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-all-import/

You may be able to do what is needed with the free version of ACF, but to import into custom fields using WPAllImport, you will need the pro version of their plugin.

Thanks, I was looking to transfer using FG Joomla to WordPress as it supports the extension I used and also the dev has advised it should be able to take my custom fields values. My idea is to rebuild the sites functionality and look and then import all the articles and look at any issues from there.
