• I just installed WP 2.5 and went to write a post and it didn’t save the contents of the post with Firefox 2.0.0.13. I copy/pasted plain text into the editor then hit Publish. I tried it a few times without success. The post saves (title, tags, etc.), but not the content/body. I also tried with TinyMCE Advanced disabled. I tried again with Safari 3.1 for Windows and it saved the body. Has anyone else seen this? It happens on posts and edits. I’m including a full list of my plugins as one of them could be causing it.

    Thanks,
    Jason

  • Hi cabes, thanks for reporting detailed feedback. To gather more information which of your plugins causes this (it is very likely that one of your plugins does this), you need to disable them all and switch then on one by one and test the save functionality on each time. The first time you can not save as intended any longer you might have found the plugin that is causing breaking the editor. Good luck.

hakre… good idea. It’s definitely TinyMCE Advanced 3.0. It gives the following JS errors: I’ll let those guys know about it.

Error: tinyMCE.importPluginLanguagePack is not a function
    Source File: http://www.???.com/wp-content/plugins/tinymce-advanced/mce/media/editor_plugin.js
    Line: 9

    Error: realTinyMCE is not defined
    Source File: http://www.???.com/wp-content/plugins/tinymce-advanced/mce/fullscreen/editor_plugin.js
    Line: 9

    Error: ed.controlManager.get(tbId) has no properties
    Source File: http://www.???.com/wp-includes/js/tinymce/tiny_mce_config.php?ver=20080327
    Line: 785

@cabes, I think TinyMCE is trying to load the old versions of the “media” and “fullscreen” plugins from the TinyMCE Advanced plugin. The “fullscreen” is now included in the WordPress default set.

Can you try deleting TinyMCE Advanced’s folder and uploading a fresh copy as the update may have failed to replace some of the old files. After that, delete wp-content/uploads/js-cache/tinymce_…..gz file(s).

Heeey there….had the same issue, asaozz solution works just fine! thx :o)
