WordPress Not Saving After WP v4.5.1

    Single lines of text save fine but blocks of text, images, videos etc result in spinning save button and nothing happens.

    Tracked down to Wordfence by disabling plugins and reactivating one by one.

    When word fence inactive save works as it should.

    Only arose after WP update this morning.

    Is there a possible conflict causing some kind of time-out issue?

    Have you tried whitelisting your IP address to see if it is something like the firewall interpreting your own actions as attacks? (I suspect it’s detecting your Ajax calls as attacks which stops the editor action from completing leaving the spinning wheel).

    Are there any log entries against your IP when this happens?

    Hey shiner web, that seems to have worked.

    Interestingly, it has never been a problem before the WordPress update today.

    Hello wizzersays,
    Have you configured and activated WAF on the Wordfence “Firewall” page? Could it be that your Wordfence installation left “Learning mode” and entered “Enabled mode” automatically?

    Yep, you’re right it has done that. I assume it hadn’t learned to allow me to post, because when I added my IP address to whitelist everything worked.

    Hello again wizzersays,
    that’s not how the Firewall is supposed to behave though. Would you consider sending me a diagnostics report for reference? That way if I see any similar reports coming up, I can look for similarities in setup. If so, go to “Diagnostics” page in Wordfence, click “Send Report by Email” and change that email to asa@wordfence.com. Thanks in advance!
