Hi!
The page took about 3 seconds to load for me and even when doing a test it took about 18 seconds to load. Part of it could be connection speed your ISP provides.

Is your front page content/image heavy?
Quite a few images yes, but all low in size.
Weird it works so fast for you Jose.
It doesn’t for me, or the other members of the forum…
Still not sure what it could be and there also seems to be a problem with adding a comment:
“ERROR: The comment could not be saved. Please try again later.”

Check your database via phpMyAdmin (most hosting providers offer this in their control panel), do you have an [something]_comments table?
While you’re in there, also check all of the tables and choose “Repair Tables” from the bulk actions menu.
Backup: If you haven’t already done, always backup everything (including your database) before doing any actions.
Thans for the tip Tara, but Sally it had no effect.
I have that specific table and I did a full repair. Sometimes a comment can be posted now, at other times the error still shows up.
Loading is still incredibly slow.
Did you see if you had any messages about caching after you disabled your plugins? This same thing happened to me yesterday. I only disabled two plugins – jetpack and image optimizer. It was still slow and then I noticed a message that I was supposed to do something with the cache, which I did (just hit the button it told me to hit) and it was speeding up again an hour or two later. I’m guessing you would have noticed the caching instructions, but I didn’t for awhile so thought I’d comment just in case.
Thanks transformedbytrials, but that doesn’t seem to be the problem either.
We got the comments problem fixed by now (was something in the sql), but loading issue remains.
Rats! Hope you get it fixed soon!
We installed a plugin to check the speed and loading time, with following results:
Number of PHP ticks: 12,311 calls avg.
Memory Usage: 57.93 MB avg.
MySQL Queries: 114 queries avg.
Seems like a lot of queries to run for a simple homepage.
I recently installed (but already removed) a plugin called theme test drive.
Could it have something to do with that?
Is it an option to delete the database and then re-import a backup from let’s say a week ago?
Problem seems to be fixed. I completely dropped all the tables and did an import of a week ago.
Lost a few posts (have those in backup though) but it loads fast again.
Can’t think what caused it, but happy it’s fixed.
Thanks everyone for all the help, topic can be closed.
