    Hello,

    I may be having 2 different issues.

    1. I have had to roll back to 1.14.3 because .5 is breaking my feeds. once I update, I can no longer play any of my episodes, on the website nor iTunes. You may say it is a theme issue but i will beg to disagree because once i roll back to an earlier version of the plugin, it works fine. Why is .5 breaking my feed?

    2. Is there something with the plugin? I mean I check in itunes connect, a once ok’ed working rss feed is now giving errors. The other podcast is not. It says it is timing out. It wasn’t doing that before, I tried to submit another podcast. I go to cast validator from http://castfeedvalidator.com/ and it says:

    Unable to do basic feed validation (read error)…
    and
    Error resolving feed address.

    – now i thought it had something to due with it downloading which i noticed is new. Although, i figure it shouldn’t mess with connecting to site because the other side was just a more visual way of seeing the feed.

    Now i am wondering, what should I do?

    http://crossfire.krusade.net/feed/podcast/flatfoot-an-american-crime-podcast says it is the same: ok.

    Settings:
    Wordpress is 4.5
    *Update* I have just seen your recent update to 1.14.6. I am going to test it and if it doesn’t work or break something I will downgrade again and add my two cents.**

    1. If the other two feeds are not giving errors, why is Friendly Fire, my main feed has all of a sudden began to give errors?

    2. Why is 1.14.5 breaks the feed to where it is not working in iTunes? I haven’t been able to test android because I don’t have an android device. It doesn’t download, in iTunes say that it could not be processed.

    3. Should I downgrade WordPress to an earlier version beacuse i wasn’t having any issues?

    ****Update***

    I updated the plugin to 1.14.6 – it broke the the MAIN feed friendly_fire. Some of the shows are showing up like this in the feed – as seen below:

    Although I upgrade, it gave these issues, In iTunes, it says the show is Temporarily unavailable.

    It doesn’t do this in 1.14.2 or 3 maybe even 4. I will roll it back as a test to check.

    I know for a fact that the view-able rss feed moves to be downloaded. This is what happens.

    ***Update****2.0

    I have had to go back to 1.14.2 because some shows were not working. It was saying temporarily unavailable again. I am going to go through and test every episode. Before the downgrade…this is what happened on 1.14.4:

    I am thinking of downgrading CMS from 4.5 to 4.4/4.3 and see what happens. I will have t to do it later.

    Thanks for the detailed report. I see you are currently on v1.14.2 of SSP and I can’t really help you unless you update to the latest version (v1.14.6).

    That being said, if iTunes is giving you a read error and saying that it cannot access your feed then the issue is on your server and with SSP. If the feed is inaccessible by iTunes then it means that your server is not allowing it to be accessed for some reason.

    If you are on the latest version of WordPress (v4.5) and the latest version of this plugin (v1.14.6) then everything should be working correctly. Please make sure you have fully updated and cleared your server cache then let me know and I will look into this again for you.

    Hello Hugh,

    I am going to update the plugin after 10 hours from this post. The show is still currently running. This is why I could not have it in accessible.

    I know you are saying should…but under the current version of 4.5 and and current version of 1.14.6…this is where the issue was coming from which began on version 1.14.4 and continues through here.

    I am unsure of how it could be a server issue because at 1.14.2 -.3 the program works. Maybe there is coding issue that has changed or security that doesn’t work with my server…possibly?

    The reason why because this will be a good time. My show is listened to in different countries around the world…there isn’t a good time for the show to be down. A few of my listeners immediately contact me once this is an issue. Also, my website, the audio is not able to be played on the website which is something i noticed as well.

    If you can get to it. I have updated the website with the most current version. I will change back after 10 hours from this post.

    No as I have updated to most recent.

    As I have said again. I will give you ample time to look at it.

    There are certain shows that do not work. This is what happened on a few of the recent upgrades: .5 and .4 The feed shows that there is no file upload but on the backside, there is.

    OK – I’ve had a look now and I’ve noticed a few things.

    1. Your podcast feed looks just fine.
    2. Your episodes play in the audio player on your website.
    3. The ‘download’ and ‘play in new window’ links do not work.

    Is that an accurate summary of what’s happening? That’s what it looks like to me.

    In your case, the podcast-download URLs are not working, but the podcast-player URLs are working correctly.

    At this moment,

    here is what I have tried.

    I have removed the cached plugin that I used earlier today.

    What you have stated earlier has given me problems across the board.

    I have player, added the code, but still not playing. Just certain ones are playing while some of the older on the feed are not playing.

    They urls are correct. I am not able to replicate what you hare doing. I have cleared browsers, tried on another computer, on my phone (site and itunes), and also on my tablet/ipad.

    All i can Say, on 1.14.2 everything was great. There were no issues.

    *maybe there was an upgrade on my server* I have contacted them and awaiting a response.

    allow me to recap:

    Your podcast feed looks just fine.
    Your episodes play in the audio player on your website.> > some are working, others are not
    The ‘download’ and ‘play in new window’ links do not work. – those links even with the addition of the code are not working.

    I will try removing plugins – well change the plugin folder and work on that tonight. I will let you know after work.

    *Still not working * nothing has worked.

    Hello Hugh,

    I have tried everything you have asked.

    I am giving up and downgrading. The upgrades may have some server issue that now WP maybe unsupported until my hosting comp decides to upgrade.

    Things were working smoother on the previous version. If you tested on your side and it was fine,

    I tested on 3 different computers and tablets and I get intermittent issues. Some that wouldn’t play or give me errors itunes now work and vice versa.

    I am going to downgrade WP and the plug in and test if this cures the issue.

    I love your stuff man.

    There may be *cough cough* hosting issue that I can’t fix.

    I have to downgrade to 4.4 WP and to 1.14.2 of your plugin.

    I believe after everything you have suggested, now that I have downgraded, every thing works fine.

    I have tried…the plugins, the coding, flushing cache, removing plugins etc…the only thing that worked was downgrading.

    The only I can’t change is htaccess on the server. Maybe there is a security issue with 4.5 wp that is interrupting the http response for itunes, google and android and the feed validators.

    THank you for your all of your help….

    And to anyone reading this…his plugin works well…just be aware of your CMS and server settings.

    OK – I’m glad you got it to work, but it’s a pity that you had to downgrade in order to do it.

    Given that these issues are unique to your site, it will definitely be a server-related issue of some kind. If you ever do get to the bottom of it, it would be great if you could post your solution here so others could benefit from it if they ever encounter the same thing.

    Ok…Hello Hugh,

    I have just went back and forth with my hosting company. They have not update the security protocol to support wordpress 4.5. They ware working on it. I can’t update wordpress. Once they have set that up then it will work out.
