    Hi there,

Got an error when I try to use this for testing means I’m using it with sanbox account but after I save the settings I got these error
“Warning: An error occurred while trying to validate your sandbox API credentials. Unable to verify that your API credentials are correct.”

“Warning: An error occurred while trying to determine which features are enabled on your live account. You may not have access to all of the settings allowed by your PayPal account. Please click “Save Changes” to try again.”

On live the “In-Context Checkout” is working but on sanbox is not working.

  • Hi rodelinternetly,

What version of OpenSSL is your server running? PayPal is going through some changes (more details here); but in short, if you’re running a version of OpenSSL older than 1.0.1, this could be causing the issues you’re seeing.

    Thanks,

do you have to have SSL on the site running this to make it work please?

    Hi Mattw1000,

Your site does not have to be SSL-enabled, but you do need to have a more recent version of OpenSSL installed on your server. This is because PayPal’s servers are SSL-enabled, and a newer version of OpenSSL is required for your site to be able to talk to PayPal (version 1.0.1, or any newer version, should be sufficient — unless your setup is configured to use something other than OpenSSL for secure communications).

    Thanks,

    Hi there,

The sandbox still not working on my end and my OpenSSL version is 1.0.1e-fips which should pass the PCI requirements of PayPal

    Hey there,

It may also depend on where your sandbox is located – if you’re hosting it locally, then it can’t communicate with PayPal.
