    Hi, I made a backup from an old site a few weeks ago that I am trying to move to the new site. The backup and the installer are in the new server folder. When I go to mywebsite/installer.php the form comes up but I am not able to connect to my new database. I have made several databases and checked them many times to make sure there wasn’t a typo in the password or anything, but it just says ‘fail’ for both when I test the connection. Any ideas on what might be causing this problem?

    Thanks for your help, I love this plugin but am not sure what to do now.

  • Hey Joni,

    Checkout this question on the FAQs page I believe it may help or provide some clues about this issue:
    -> Browse to: http://lifeinthegrid.com/duplicator-faq
    -> Find section: “Database Issues”

    Hope that helps!

    Hi,

    I read the FAQ but struggle to find answer to my problem.

    My situation is similar to Jonibean except when I go my newdomain.com, I don’t get to see the package that I thought I successfully uploaded. Needless to say, when I add the suffix /installer.php the 505 Internal Server Error came up.

    Everything worked fine in strict adherence to the video tutorial, including uploading the package. But when I started using the File Manager on cPanel, things started to differ. Instead of seeing just the cgi, installer and archive files, which most duplicator video tutorials will show, I was presented with a long list of files, including files from my other websites. The installer and archive files were among a long list of files in the Web Root, public html.

    Please help.

    Hi,

    Issue resolved after I manually moved the 2 files from my public_html to public_html/newdomain

    The new website is up.

    Duplicator … what a wonderful invention!!

    Regards.

    Excellent! Thxs for the update…
