Had the same thing happen, which caused them to reject my account until I submit another 20 samples.

Thanks for reporting. We actually changed this behaviour in version 2.8 I’ve just released.
Update the plugin and it’ll stop submitting draft posts.

This issue is still happening on version 2.11
We aren’t seeing draft posts submitted to Instant Articles, but they are still being submitted to the Facebook Scraper, which sees nothing since the post isn’t published.
We then have to constantly re-scrape every post with the Facebook debugger.
This seems to have been fixed on our end since the last update. ver 3.0.1
Every drafted submitted since 3.0.1 is now returning an error saying the article is blank.
