I can’t access wp-admin either but for a different reason.. i’m getting a 500 internal server error. I don’t know if the issue is 2.5 or, if it’s my host. I checked my host’s status updates and there’s nothing to indicate that I should be having issues.
If you are using WordPress 2.5 then the most obvious thing that is causing these issues are your plugins not being compatible with WordPress 2.5 and causing the error. Do you have any admin plugins installed (things that add stuff to your admin area?) if so download any of them from your server then delete them off of the server and re-try logging in. With the move to 2.5 probably most plugins will not work correctly and will need to be specifically updated to be compatible.
Encountered the same issue after upgrading to WP 2.5 tonight.
I was still able to access the admin interface (via “edit this entry” of a random blog post). Went to “plugins” and clicked “deactivate all”. Even though all plugins were already listed as inactive (which I had double-checked before, according to instructions), that apparently fixed it for me.
My current plugins:
Akismet 2.1.4
Disable WordPress Widgets 1.0
flickrRSS 3.2
Hello Dolly 1.5
wp-Table 1.51
Hope this helps…
I had K2 theme with Saphire style on and was getting this same problem. I disabled the sidebar manager for K2 and i’m not getting the error anymore.
