Switch Views and advance months

Just installed and I cannot switch any view to another when the calendar loads. Whichever view I mark as default loads properly, but I cannot change to another view. When I select a different view from the drop down, nothing happens. Similarly, when on month view, I cannot advance to the next or previous months.
