WordPress 2.5 Still Says “Development Version”

    I just downloaded the official release of WordPress 2.5 and upgraded my site from 2.3.3. However, in the admin area, it says “You are using a development version (2.5).” But the download page (http://wordpress.org/download/) says this is the official release. Is this actually a development version or just a leftover that they forgot to amend for official release? Thanks!

    They simply forgot. The version update checking code on the WordPress servers was still considering it to be a development version. They have already corrected this, and so this will fix itself on your site in about 1 day when your site checks for the version again. You won’t have to change anything or even update any files, it will simply fix itself. 🙂
