    Hi All,

I had installed WordPress and uploaded wp-content folder from existing site. The site was up and running when suddenly it started showing 403 Forbidden Error. I had changed .htaccess for permalinks but the site was working after that too.

Now even a fresh install shows the same 403 Forbidden error while trying to log run http://www.dpbuildhomes.com/wp-admin/install.php
I only get this error for wp-admin folder.
I have tried 755 and 777 permissions, reinstalled 4.4.2 WordPress then reverted back to 4.4.1
    Nothing is working.

I had tried using htaccess to fit this. I have renamed htaccess to htaccess.txt as adding htaccess was showing Internal Server Error.

I tried contacting the host. They said there was no issue at their end.

I also tried uploading a normal index.html file in root folder and it seems to be working fine.

Other URLs on the website show blank page since wordpress isn’t installed yet on the site. Anything with wp-admin URL results in Forbidden page.

    Please help!

403 forbidden means that your browser isn’t able to load the scripts up because your server isn’t allowing it. This is a hard one to solve. Because anything could be blocking the server.
    – Most likely this is a server permissions/ownership issue, so ask your host what’s going on
    – check your .htaccess files for anything strange.
    – make sure your server settings are not overriding the .htaccess file
    – try a full Manual Upgrade, to make sure all the WordPress files are there and correct..
    – Make sure to backup everything (including database) before doing any action, in case.

    Hi Tara,

    Thanks for your reply.
It was a server side error and is resolved now.

Hi! When I share my website link to facebook, the title is 403 Forbidden. Directly on my website http://www.missqueenportugal.com/ I didn’t saw any kind of 403 forbidden message. I tried a lot of advises I found, as removing .htaccess file, desactivating all the plugins and also checked permissions. I tried to debug at facebook debugger, but the informations doesn’t change. Anyone can help me to fix this problem?
