It might be caused by omission of image metadata in the feed, says Feedvalidator.org

This is all fixed up in the latest version of the plugin (v1.14.5).

Hi Hugh, thanks for looking into this.

FYI, my feed validates in Apple’s own Podcast Connect, and in Podba.se but not in feedvalidator.org. . I don’t really care as long as iTunes will allow it. I have submitted the feed for review.

We are having fun podcasting book reviews 🙂

    Best, Lars

Sorry, my feed is still not accepted by ITunes.

Here are my validation errors – can you make anything of it?

    Thanks,

    Lars

I’ve narrowed down the issue here and this will be fixed in the next release.

    Great, thank you very much!

    Hello,

I may be having 2 different issues.

    1. I have had to roll back to 1.14.3 because .5 is breaking my feeds. once I update, I can no longer play any of my episodes, on the website nor itunes. You may say it is a theme issue but i will beg to disagree because once i roll back to an earlier version of the plugin, it works fine. Why is .5 breaking my feed?

    2. Is there something with the plugin? I mean I check in itunes connect, a once ok’ed working rss feed is now giving errors. The other podcast is not. It says it is timing out. It wasn’t doing that before, I tried to submit another podcast. I go to cast validator from http://castfeedvalidator.com/ and it says:

Unable to do basic feed validation (read error)…
    and
    Error resolving feed address.

    – now i thought it had something to due with it downloading which i noticed is new. Although, i figure it shouldn’t mess with connecting to site because the other side was just a more visual way of seeing the feed.

Now i am wondering, what should I do?

@caliph3001: You’ll have to provide me with your site address before I can help. There’s no way I can look into this unless I can see your feed.

@adjunkten: Please update to v1.14.6 and this will all be sorted out for you.

@caliph3001: Please log a new support ticket with these same details, but also include the URL of your site.

@hugh: Thank you for your work on this.

My feed now validates – but nothing shows up in iTunes, when I subscribe + the episode images are no longer in the feed

Since the feed validates I am marking this as resolved even though I’m still not in ITunes.

I have opened a support thread with ITunes. The feed also validates in podcastsconnect.apple.com – but nothing shows up in ITunes and they are looking into it (I hope)

You’ll have to find out form iTunes why the episodes are not appearing there. Your feed looks 100% correct, so there’s no reason why they wouldn’t show up.

In terms of the episode images not appearing in the feed – they are actually there and will show up in iTunes, etc. (once your episodes are pulled through), but they are no longer in the viewable feed in the browser. This is due to me having to remove some tags that were breaking the feed validation that pertained to the images. This will just be for the feed when vieed in the browser though – on podcasting services (like iTunes) they will still be there.

FYI, my podcast is up on iTunes now:

The problem was on the server. We added SSL-certificate to the server.

Nothing was modified with the plugin.
