Installing plugin updates failing

    I have downloaded several plugin updates and am trying to install them. This is what is happening:

    Unpacking the package…

    Installing the plugin…

    Destination folder already exists.

    Plugin install failed.

    I tried deactivating the previous versions of the plugins and it still did not work. Do I need to delete the old plugins before I install the updates, and if I do will it lose their settings and content?
