• I wrote a short tutorial on how to hack that nuisance the <!–more–> tag.
It allows the tag to display the permalink, and not that crummy page anchor that skips the previous text. I’m new to PHP, so let me know if everything checks out properly. It seems to work fine, though.
Also, if you need any help, just reply here.

  • Thanks but i prefer to pick up where I left off with a neat page anchor, not a crummy permalink that makes me start over – what a nuisance ;-P but for those with STML, I’m sure the tutorial will be helpful.
“Cheezborger, cheezborger, cheezborger … no Pepsi–Coke. No fries–cheeps.”

I use the *more* tag all the time and prefer that it not start at the beginning of the post but continues on to the next lines of text. I don’t see the advantage to making people scroll down to figure out where they left off.

Personally I don’t like it skipping the first part of the text either. But then again it’s also annoying that you can’t quickly gain an overview of where you’re supposed to pick up.
I suggest a plugin that’ll allow for the part of the text that is normally skipped to become italic…

It’s in the Wiki .. MooKitty wrote it.
