    Hello,
I plan to enable Wordfence “Falcon Engine”. I was wondering:

    1) I have a shared Hostgator account, and Cpanel’s “Optimize Website” icon give me 3 options to compress content which are: (Disabled, Compress All Content, and Compress the specified MIME Types). Which one of these should be selected for Falcon Engine to function properly?

2)I currently have the following code added to my .htaccess file:

    AddOutputFilterByType DEFLATE text/html text/plain text/xml application/xhtml+xml
    AddOutputFilterByType DEFLATE application/x-javascript application/javascript text/javascript text/css

Should the above code be removed before enabling Falcon Engine?

    Thanks for your help,
    Clint

  • Hi Clint,

Leave the compression Disabled in the CPANEL. You may want to disable the DEFLATE line for html since Falcon will already be cacheing. The javascript line should be OK.
