Does WP SimplyHired support shortcodes?
-
At this point WP SimplyHired does not support shortcodes. The intent was for the plugin to be specific to one niche per domain, and only runs on one page at a time.
The way it works is that you can set up a “base query” in the admin section which will only pull in jobs matching that query AND the query users specify. In other words, it appends an additional query to what users specified in their query.
For those that are looking to have SimplyHired on multiple pages of their site, it is not possible at this point.
One user was wondering if it would be possible to have multiple pages on their site, each pulling in jobs from a specific and different niche. This isn’t how WP SimplyHired was designed, however, there is another option that may or may not be sufficient.
For a case like this, what I’d recommend is doing a search within the search box for that niche (i.e. ‘sales’), copying that URL, and using that URL to serve up the sales jobs for the end-users. The URL might look something like:
http://www.domain.com/jobs-page/?search=sales&job_location=&findjobs=SearchThis would initially display sales jobs, however, once the user executes a different search, the results may not necessarily be a subset of ‘sales’ jobs.
The way WP SimplyHired was intended to work is with one specific niche for each site. Given the user options in the admin section, users can specify a ‘base’ query which will pull in jobs specific to their niche.
