changing your file permissions doesnt do anything..
I suggest rebooting, it will do about as much good.
Be sure to restore those permissions to 755, as like Whoo said, that doesn’t help anything.
Can you view your MySQL database from within PHPMyAdmin? Are the posts there?
i have dreamhost and i dont have the main account…
k got access, and no it doesnt.
What do you mean, you “don’t have the main account”? The main HOSTING account? If you use DreamHost, did you use the One-Click install of WP? If memory servers me correctly, you still have to set up your own database, don’t you?
View your config.php file and the database info should be there. From it you should be able to go to your DH panel and view the database. And then see if your posts are indeed there.
a) yes i used the one-click install.
b) NO I DONT HAVE THE MAIN HOSTING ACCOUNT BECAUSE I AM A STUDENT ON A UNIVERSITY WEBSITE…
c) and no, as i said prior, the posts arent there. i customized and built the theme myself so im not sure if that has something to do with i.
The theme doesn’t usually affect the database. And there’s really no need to shout (CAPSLOCK), I’m not deaf or stupid. I just needed clarification of what you said.
Sounds to me like you need to talk to the tech folks at the university. They may have a custom server setup that is beyond the scope of my expertise to comment upon.
Good luck.
