    Hi,

This option saved its configuration into the /wp-content/nfwlog/cache/bf_conf.php file.
    1. Do you see that file ?
    2. Can you check if the /wp-content/nfwlog/ and its /cache/ subfolders are writable? If they aren’t, you should see a warning in the firewall ‘Overview” page.

You can try to delete bf_conf.php, then log in and try again to set up the protection.

Thank you so much for your lightning fast response! This firewall is really state-of-the-art stuff! Software and support!

I found the file you mentioned, downloaded it but when i opened it the correct information is contained in it already! Don’t know why these popups are coming and why i see “basme” in the field when i load the page. Thing is, for a few moments when that page first loads the correct information is displayed then after 2 or 3 seconds the 5 is replaced with the “basme” and the prompt to set a number between 1-99 appears. Weird. Also the Overview page shows no errors.

Everything works so i guess i’ll just ignore this anomaly.

    Thanks for this great resource!

Actually i just removed the file and the page shows the very same information even without that file present!? Could it be taking this information from elsewhere?

Finally, I adjusted the interval ($bf_maxtime) in the file from 15 to 30 seconds and it shows momentarily when the page loads then snaps back to the “basme” and the popup is triggered…

I logged with the Microsoft EDGE browser and the issue does not appear. I have never logged in with this browser before so my issue may be a cache issue of some sort (even tho i cleared that). I’ll consider this resolved. Thank you.

    Hi,

Looks odd indeed. Maybe your browser was hijacked?
Have you been hacked lately, had issue with malware etc either on your site or computer/device?

Not to my knowledge… but not outside the realm of possibility. Will look into that. I

In the meantime it works solidly on Edge so i know it likely has something to do with the browser (both firefox and chrome do this) and not WP or NinjaFirewall…

    Cheers,

    …/Ian
