White area after events list
-
HI everyone,
I’d like to know if is possible not to show a black rectangle on the bottom od custom search: I used shortcode
[custom_events]tomorrow[/custom_events]to show events list in my home page in two different tabbed pages, but after the list there is an ugly white area. There’s something I can do?
Thank to everybody.

Hi,
Can you post a link to a screenshot or a live link?
OH sorry :-),
this is the link http://screenshot.net/grrrbrgHow did you create the [custom_events] shortcode?
I don’t remember 🙂 I did it a lot of time ago.
I changed in the first tab the shortcode with
[events_list scope=”today”][/events_list]:
Now the white rettangle is disappeared, but css is broken.
Do you have some code to change css fast to have a simple compact event list layout?
Here my situation: http://www.dayroma.it
I looked at your page with Firefox Inspector…
<div class="wpb_wrapper"> <pre><div class="css-events-list"><div id="event_container"> </div><table class="myTableEvents"> <thead> <tr> <th width="20%"></th> <th width="80%"></th> </tr> </thead> <tbody> <tr><td> <img src="https://www.dayroma.it/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/image_0106-672x378.png" class="attachment-300x300 size-300x300 wp-post-image" alt="image_0106" srcset="https://www.dayroma.it/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/image_0106-300x169.png 300w, https://www.dayroma.it/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/image_0106.png 1024w, https://www.dayroma.it/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/image_0106-800x450.png 800w, https://www.dayroma.it/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/image_0106-672x378.png 672w" sizes="(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px" height="169" width="300"> </td> <td> <div id="event_title"><a href="https://www.dayroma.it/eventi/test-pattinaggio/" title="test pattinaggio">test pattinaggio</a></div> <div id="event_info"> 18/02/2016, 0:00, viale libia 25, roma </div> <div id="booking_button"> </div> <div id="list_attendees"> </div> </td> </tr></tbody></table></div></pre> </div>Some how or another… you are wrapping the DIV tags with the
<pre>blahblahblah</pre>
Take out the
<pre> and </pre>
tags…On the first event it has the big white space above..
and the second event is the white space below you mention..On the second event.. with the white space below..
<div class="wpb_wrapper"> <pre></pre> </div>It is just empty between
resulting in that white space below.
thank you my friend,
but I don’t know how to delete pre tag.
I put this code in Events Manager->Settings->Format:<table class="myTableEvents"> <thead> <tr> <th width="20%"></th> <th width="80%"></th> </tr> </thead> <tbody>and
<tr><div id="event_container"> <td> #_EVENTIMAGE{300,300} </td> <td> <div id="event_title">#_EVENTLINK</div> <div id="event_info"> #_EVENTDATES, #_EVENTTIMES, #_LOCATIONADDRESS, #_LOCATIONNAME </div> <div id="booking_button">#_BOOKINGBUTTON </div> <div id="list_attendees">#_ATTENDEESLIST</div> </td> </div></tr>I don’t know why
/pre/ tag is inserted…
Here myTableEvents class css:
.myTableEvents { margin:0px;padding:0px; width:100%; box-shadow: 10px 10px 5px #777777; border:1px solid #cccccc; -moz-border-radius-bottomleft:0px; -webkit-border-bottom-left-radius:0px; border-bottom-left-radius:0px; -moz-border-radius-bottomright:0px; -webkit-border-bottom-right-radius:0px; border-bottom-right-radius:0px; -moz-border-radius-topright:0px; -webkit-border-top-right-radius:0px; border-top-right-radius:0px; -moz-border-radius-topleft:0px; -webkit-border-top-left-radius:0px; border-top-left-radius:0px; }.myTableEvents table{ border-collapse: collapse; border-spacing: 0; width:100%; height:100%; margin:0px;padding:0px; }.myTableEvents tr:last-child td:last-child { -moz-border-radius-bottomright:0px; -webkit-border-bottom-right-radius:0px; border-bottom-right-radius:0px; } .myTableEvents table tr:first-child td:first-child { -moz-border-radius-topleft:0px; -webkit-border-top-left-radius:0px; border-top-left-radius:0px; } .myTableEvents table tr:first-child td:last-child { -moz-border-radius-topright:0px; -webkit-border-top-right-radius:0px; border-top-right-radius:0px; } .myTableEvents tr:last-child td:first-child{ -moz-border-radius-bottomleft:0px; -webkit-border-bottom-left-radius:0px; border-bottom-left-radius:0px; } .myTableEvents tr:hover td{ } .myTableEvents tr:nth-child(odd){ background-color:#f2f2f2; } .myTableEvents tr:nth-child(even) { background-color:#ffffff; } .myTableEvents td{ border:1px solid #cccccc; border-width:0px 1px 1px 0px; text-align:left; font-size:15px; font-family:Arial; color:#666666; } .myTableEvents tr:last-child td{ border-width:0px 1px 0px 0px; } .myTableEvents tr td:last-child{ border-width:0px 0px 1px 0px; } .myTableEvents tr:last-child td:last-child{ border-width:0px 0px 0px 0px; } /* .myTableEvents tr:hover td{ background:-o-linear-gradient(bottom, #ff3333 5%, #ff3333 100%); background:-webkit-gradient( linear, left top, left bottom, color-stop(0.05, #ff3333), color-stop(1, #ff3333) ); background:-moz-linear-gradient( center top, #ff3333 5%, #ff3333 100% ); filter:progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.gradient(startColorstr="#ff3333", endColorstr="#ff3333"); background: -o-linear-gradient(top,#ff3333,#ff3333); background-color:#ffe5e5; }*/ .myTableEvents tr:first-child td:first-child{ border-width:0px 0px 1px 0px; } .myTableEvents tr:first-child td:last-child{ border-width:0px 0px 1px 1px; }There also are problems with image resize 🙁
It looks like you are using Buddypress.. I don’t know anything about Buddypress..
I don’t often see pre tags added in WP pages.
Maybe contact your Theme people where the pre tag is being inserted.
I imagine in one of the Templates.. or page.php, post.php the tag is being inserted.
You could download your website to your computer…
Then start looking in your Theme templates for the pre tag.
Is there a Template for Tables ?(not sure if it is ok to post a program to use but mods can delete if neccessary)
I use Super Finder XT (it’s free)
http://fsl.sytes.net/download.html
So use a program like that and search your templates in your Theme for the pre tag.Obviously the pre tag is being inserted where ever the <div class=”wpb_wrapper”> is being used.
Good luck.
Are you sure that pre tag can change a table layout?
I asked to my theme support but I don’t know if is a theme problem,
Thank you anywayHi again Fersamp…
The PRE tag can change the way the Earth moves around the Sun.
Have you used Firefox Inspector ?
If you do not have experience using it you should learn. If you do not have experience with it…
Using Firefox… right click on your website..
and in the box near the bottom is Inspect Element(Q) click that..On the VERY far Left… there is a little “box”.. with that you select individual parts of the website.
You can try it right here reading this message…
It will show your everything going on with your site.
Errors, warnings, problems…AND you can experiment, make changes, to your site right there without causing any damages…
Using the Firefox Inspector aka Inspect Element(Q)…
I looked at your website… and removed the PRE tags and it looked beautiful !My deepest apologies if you already know how to use the Firefox Inspector.
If you do not use it, you should sincerely learn, and use it because it is the “Holy Grail” to working on websites.
If you like Google Chrome, there is the same option available in Chrome.
Thank you,
how can I remove pre tag?
