    Also, I cannot get my image to be full-width on the slider. I see a bit of code saying “max-width: 980px”

    Hello,

    Here you can control the speed:

    Autoplay and Autoplay Interval:
    [recent_post_slider autoplay="true" autoplay_interval="100"]
    Slide Speed:
    [recent_post_slider speed="3000"]

    You can change the css by taking (css line that you want to edit) from the plugin file and paste in your theme style.css file.
