• Since a few weeks ago, my WP blog (and its editing page) can’t be accessed. I get a white screen and the following message:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /usr/www/users/morganf/miniatures/wp-content/plugins/subscribe-to-comments-reloaded/subscribe-to-comments-reloaded.php on line 19

    My blog URL is:

    http://www.morgan-fisher.com/miniatures/

Something similar happened once before, maybe a year ago, and I think I had to replace my wp-config.php file.

If that may be the case this time too, I’d be very grateful if someone could walk me through the procedure, or point me to an exisiting explanation here on WP support.

I do have another WP blog which is working fine, by the way.

I’ve no way to check which version of WordPress I am now using, but I’m pretty sure I updated it in the last several weeks, so I’m guessing it is 4.4.

Using Safari 8.0.8, Mac OS 10.10.5

    Many thanks for any suggestions!

  • Do you have FTP or cPanel access? Try renaming the folder of that “subscribe-to-comments-reloaded” plugin to turn it off.

    Thanks – that worked. Great!

But now my “Subscribe to Comments Reloaded” plugin is turned off. I see that a new version is available, so should I try deleting the folder I just renamed, then install the new version?

Yes, try that. If it breaks again then you’ll need disable it again and try to find another plugin to use instead.
