    Hi,

I have 10 websites on Hostgator and I’m using Dropbox to store the backups. All websites have two jobs, a database backup and a full backup.

They were all working until recently. I started having problems with the full backs on several of the sites “WARNING: Job restarts due to inactivity for more than 5 minutes” I was able to resolve this warning by adjusting some settings (Maximum script execution time and Reduce server load) on 8 of the sites.

But when I did that on 2 of the sites, I started getting the “ERROR: Dropbox API: (7) couldn’t connect to host” message. The database backups work fine for all the sites, including these two that fail on a full backup. No errors and they are also uploaded to Dropbox. It’s just the full backups that are failing and just for these two sites.

    Any suggestions?

Same story for me. It’s worked fine for me for quite some time, then started getting this error on February 1st. I’ve been able to manually do one full backup, but most of the time, I get the exact same error as tcaywilson. I’ve tried to reauthenticate and am using full access to dropbox.

    Hello,

if have found that Dropbox hase change the url for the api and supports the old urls too. I have change the urls in the version on https://github.com/inpsyde/backwpup . Can you test it and give feadback if it work for you?

I just uploaded that and it worked flawlessly! Thank you so much Daniel. I really appreciate it. I may just go pro! 😉

    getting this error message:

WARNING: Folder …/backwpup/vendor/Guzzle/Stream/ does not exist or is not readable

I had that same problem with the message: “ERROR: Dropbox API: (7) couldn’t connect to host” message. I downloaded the new version from your Github link and installed it – ran the full backup (~200mb compressed) and it went faster with no errors. Thank you!

That one looks like an alpha version. Will you be posting an update to the plugin through the normal update system any time soon?

    Thanks for a great plugin!

Hi, gmsdesignworks. Say, have you tried the new version from Github?

[19-Oct-2016 04:12:52] ERROR: Job has ended with errors in 301 seconds. You must resolve the errors for correct execution.” with the last version of the plugin.

You could try to delete the Dropbox authentication and reauthenticate, see http://docs.backwpup.com/article/154-backup-wordpress-to-dropbox

If it does not work, please contact your hoster. And sometimes this is just a temporary problem.
