While writing this plugin, my intention was to keep it lightweight with minimal configuration needed. I’ve always been of the mindset that plugins should inherit most of the styling from the WordPress theme. This allows for WP SimplyHired to have the same look and feel of the rest of your site!

Oh, and I’m a real person (imagine that) who checks this support forum regularly, so just shout if you have any questions or concerns and I’ll be happy to get back to you.

  • Does WP Simplyhired support shortcodes? I am looking for a simplyhired plugin that can be used with different search criteria on different pages. Example is Office Admin jobs on one page, Medical Administration Jobs on another page, Network Admin jobs on a 3rd page.. I run a training school and want to present different students with different job postings.

    Hi Mike –

At this point WP SumplyHired does not support shortcodes. The intent was for the plugin to be specific to one niche per domain, and only runs on one page at a time.

I’m not sure if you had a chance to install and try the plug-in yet, but the way it works is that you can set up a “base query” in the admin section which will only pull in jobs matching that query AND the query users specify. In other words, it appends an additional query to what users specified in their query.

I understand what you’re trying to accomplish, and it’s an interesting use-case. One thing you could do (without using the base query) is to have links to the specific queries that pull in the jobs you’ve mentioned. This will work fine while users scroll through each page, but once they change the query, it will not pull in jobs they expect since there’s no base query.

Please let me know if this makes sense.

    Hi Boybawang

DANG!!!.. Appreciate your thoughts… Not sure if what you are suggesting will meet what we need. We really need a way to present different job opportunities to the different classes of students, preferably on different pages or a way to pass in query criteria for different students

Not sure I fully understand when you are mentioning having different links to pull in different queries. Can you provide a little more detail?

    Hey Mike –

    No problem 🙂

I’ve actually created a new thread for this, as I realized that this thread was supposed to be a ‘sticky’ thread that was closed to the public. I forgot to close it out (my fault!).

The new thread is here: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/does-wp-simplyhired-support-shortcodes?replies=1

    Thanks,
    Pete
