Hi there,

I want to know how I can use an RSS feed for the Breaking News section, instead of it showing my latest blog posts. I already have my latest posts showing on my Home page, so I want to use a news feed from Google for the Breaking News section.

What theme files do I need to edit to make this happen?

Hello,
The approach to solving your problem could be by creating a child theme at first, (to learn to create a child theme see https://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes#How_to_Create_a_Child_Theme ),
then download and install a rss feed plugin.
(you could use https://wordpress.org/plugins/google-news-editors-picks-news-feeds/ )
Then you could override the function of the breaking news in the child theme’s function.php and finally find and replace the code to show the breaking news post with the google rss feed plugin shortcode.
