Adding New Posts and Pages Messes Up Site

    Everything was working fine until I made a normal post and when I went to view it the screen was blank.

    After deactivating my plugins the site came back but the links didn’t work. So I updated the permalinks structure and everything was fine again.

    Now every time I go to post something whether it be a page or a post, I have to deactivate the plugins AND update the permalinks structure or nothing works. Also custom permalinks structure doesn’t work, it has to be one of the given options.

    I just upgraded to the latest version of WordPress and that didn’t help. I also updated all of my plugins to the latest version. Still no help.

    Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    The fact that deactivating a plugin solved the problem is a big clue. Try deactivating all those plugins, and then activating them, one by one, checking your front page after each activation. When it spits out that blank page, you know which specific plugin is the culprit. That should work.

    Misbehaving plugins affect WP in odd ways. I know of two (Ultimate Tag Warrior and Event Calendar) that wreak havoc with WP’s own search function. Heave only knows why.
