plugin activation failed triggered fatal error

    When activating many plugins, I get:

    Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.

    I have researched the net on this subject and not found some answers or ideas, none of which help. My PHP.ini memory is high (48). Never had so much trouble with the last version of WP.

    Would you believe –I thought I barely detected a pattern…that the plugins giving me that error were dragged
    from their .zip file (not extracted!)?

    And if I extract them, they work just fine!!!

    All you people out there with the same error, I hope this solves it for you.

    Thanks for the followup — so it was related to *how* you extracted stuff from zips?
