Does the same upload work via the “Add Media” button when editing any post or page?
I’m asking as that’s basically the same screen, so it would be interesting to know if things work there.

That was a very good question. No, uploading doesn’t work via the “Add Media” button. It does function, however, if you click “Media”, “Add New” via the Dashboard menu.

If it doesn’t work via that “Add Media” button, that indicates that the issue is not actually in TablePress.
It could be a server issue (in which case there might be more information in the server error log), or it could be a corrupted WordPress installation. My suggestion here is to re-install WordPress from a fresh download and then try again with all plugins deactivated.
If that still does not work, I recommend to contact your webhost company about this, as this is then a server issue most likely.
