Nobody said to run the install.php!
Otto42 advised to replace the file(s). That’s all.
If you have a database backup – you can get back, restore your content, up to the time when the backup has been done.
Restoring_Your_Database_From_Backup
You should have just replied to that post, but no matter.
Did you save your old wp-config.php file? Is your database still accessible? Your posts may still all be there, you just removed the link to them and/or created a new database.
Failing all else, of course, restore from backup. And never, ever, again use “CPanel” or any other automated bloody system for managing WordPress. Take the 5 minutes to learn FTP and do it yourself. You’ll be a better person for it and you won’t break things by accident… you’ll only break them by design. 🙂

anyway there’s a few things i need to ask. please be patient with me cos i have no knowledge watsoever in this sort of thing.
1) why do i find this old wp-config php file? i must try to use this method to retrieve back my files.
2) what software should i open gz file. i saved my backup file in my doc. but i dont know how to open it.
3) if i need to import my database, do i have to import both files (gllr1 & wrdp_1)
4) i’m not sure if i have restored my database successfully cos alot of the images i uploaded are not showing.
5) my last backup done was 12/3/07 but why is the restoration is done up to my post which dated 19/10/07.
6) when i tried to import my database (from phpAdmin thru my cpanel -i’m sorry otto42 you told me not to) it came out error:-
