Menu Display Issue
-
My website has been up for 9 months with no problems. Suddenly the Menu is displaying as a “hamburger” instead of the horizontal line of words it used to be. The hamburger was always on phones, which is fine. But now it seems to be on all size screens. My audience (older, less tech savvy) requires an instantly readable menu that spells out options without clicking. Alex at sparkleball.com

I see the full menu on my screen with a browser window size of 1980 wide:
Sketch’s menu turns into a hamburger icon on screens less than 1280px wide and that hasn’t changed.
Is it possible your device resolution has changed?
Can you visit this page and let me know what it says for Browser Window Width:
Hi Katherine,
My browser window width is 1366. To my knowledge the resolution has not changed. As I said, it used to display fully, and now it doesn’t. I wondered if it had to do with the number of items on the menu.
Alex
But I’m happy to know that on some browsers it does show up.
Would it be possible to upload a screenshot of what you see for me to peek at in case it sparks an idea?
Here’s a guide on how to make a screenshot:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/make-a-screenshot/You can upload the screenshot – in a graphic format like JPG, PNG, or PDF – in your Media Library, and provide a link so I can see it, or upload it with a service like Imgur or Snaggy.
Thanks! I don’t see anything obvious there. It’s possible that your browser chrome (i.e. scrollbars) is taking up some of the 1366, giving the inner part of your window under 1280px.
Could you visit this page and take a screenshot of what it says?

To repeat 🙂 nothing I’ve done is different in the viewing of the page. Until a month ago it showed the full menu. I recently added one more item to it, and I worried that had caused it to change permanently to the icon. I appreciate your patience!
You’ve satisfied me that it is showing up on larger screens. I just checked my husband’s and it’s in full format there, too. So I’m going to blame it on updating to Windows 10 or goblins and call it good. Thank you for your help!
OK – you’re most welcome!
