Homepage carousel not working

I’m using the SimpleMag theme and my posts carousel is not working. My website is anothergaze.com. I have enabled the carousel and on my latest post clicked “add post to homepage slider”. Is it maybe because I have disabled the sidebar but not managed to make the area in which the posts sit expand all the way across the page? (This is another problem I have). I am looking to make the posts carousel full width like that of isismagazine.org.uk which uses the same theme
