Frontpage translation not working

i have 2 languages on my site, and i use the widget to select between english and danish, my default language is english, so when i visit my site frontpage i get the english front page http://www.example.com if i click english i get http://www.example.com/en and it works fine, but when i click danish, i get http://www.example.com/da and that site do not exist it should be http://www.example.com/da/hjem when i look what article that is linked to english font page in sides -> front page article, with the quick edit mode one.
