• Hi, I my friend linked to my site twice and I am unable to see the ping backs in the comment sections of the dashboard. I allowed ping backs on the posts but am yet to see them. My friend linked it using the http format as well, can anyone help?

I’m using the Canard theme, the site is http://www.gonzostu.com if that helps.

    Thank you

  • Could you provide a link to the specific post so I can take a peek? If you’re not even seeing pingbacks in the comments area of the dashboard then this wouldn’t be a theme issue. You could always try a self-pingback on a test post to see if that works.

Hi Kathryn, my friend linked to this post… http://gonzostu.com/destinations/mexico/the-thin-line-between-adventure-recklessness-and-innocence/

    I can’t see self ping backs either….

Do you have the pingback option checked in Settings > Discussion:

Hi, yeah, all my settings are set to allow ping backs and each individual post is set this way as well. I did one from another of my sites and still nothing and I checked on opensiteexplorer and can’t see anything there.

And just to be sure, are you still not seeing pingbacks in your dashboard under Settings > Comments?

    /wp-admin/edit-comments.php

If the pingbacks aren’t being displayed in your comments dashboard, then it isn’t just a theme display issue, as the pingbacks should show up in the admin area regardless of what the theme does on the front end.

To rule out a plugin issue, you could try temporarily deactivating all your plugins. Does the problem persist? If the problem is gone, reactivate your plugins one-by-one, look at the site in between each reactivation, to find the conflict.
