Change password

I’m having some trouble in profile editing, in particular while I’m changing the password from the special Stand-Alone version of profile editing provided by s2member.
It says that everything is ok, but it doesn’t change the password.
I’ve tried to change password from the wp-admin panel but it says me this: ‘Cannot create a user with an empty login name.’Can anyone help?
