• Hi, must say that I’m very impressed with TDO Mini Forms. Was exactly what I was looking for and is very well implemented.

Just one issue and ne question.

The captcha image doesn’t appear on the form. It’s looking for /tdo-mini-forms/widgets/freecap/freecap_tdomf.php which does exist, just don’t get the image.

Also, the installation notes mention looking at the FAQ’s for info on theme integration but I couldn’t see anything. The format in the screnshots is great. How do you get the form to pisk up the WP CSS or do youhave to edit the form?

    Thanks in anticipation,
    benz1

  • I’m curious to know if there is a simple way to allow my users to include an image into their post. For example, I want to allow people to write a “How-To” and make it easy for them to post a screen shot in order to help people follow along. I can upload a file using miniforms, but How would I include the file or multiple files into the post as an image?

    (Arg my website is down…)

/tdo-mini-forms/widgets/freecap/freecap_tdomf.php should exist! It’s in the SVN. But…

I just re-downloaded the 0.9.4 zip and freecap_tdomf.php is there… but, all the fonts and word files for freecap aren’t! It won’t work. Arg. They are there in the SVN repo (I’ve doubled checked) but it looks like WordPress.org does not include them in the zip you download. Damn, which it explains why it always worked for me. I’m surprised no-one else had a problem with it. I will correct this for the next release, 0.10 (by renaming the offending files to something WordPress.org will like).

As for images in posts. Right now, you can add an Upload Files widget to allow your submitters upload files of all types. If they are images, they can be attached to the end (or start) of your post, either as thumbnails or full images.

As for allowing submitters to decide where to place images within a post, I simply have not implemented that yet. What I was thinking of was having some sort of QuickTag that would insert a placeholder/tag in the post. When you submit (or preview) that post it would automatically replace the tag with the actual uploaded image (or link).

It should be noted that submitters can insert img html tags to link images in their posts. Anything you can do in a normal wordpress post, you can do in a post submitted by TDOMF, technically.

Thanks TDO. Is there any way you could make the missing files available as a download so that it is usable straight away, before the next release?

Also, any advice on theme integration?

Many thanks for developing the plugin and for your excellent support.

You can download them directly from WordPress SVN

What do you mean by theme integration? Normally you just create a page for the form.

Thanks TDO, downloaded the files and uploaded them to the widgets/freecap folder. An image is now appearing but it’s not displaying correctly and the word is illegible. Should I have uploaded them to a different folder? See http://www.kachingtank.com/tell-us-some-news/.

Re the themes, you mentioned in the installation notes to see the FAQs for info on this but I’ve just realised that the form appears correctly when viewed as a page as opposed to viewing the form via the widgets page.

    Thanks,

Have to remove the CAPTCA widget from the page to make it usable but you can see a screen capture at http://www.benz1.com/temp/blog.gif

Would be grateful if you could take a look and see if you can tell what’s gone wrong.

    Thanks,

    I have a similar problem…
    Please, help!

I don’t have an answer for you because it works on my servers. In the mean time, you should just use the 1 question capatcha widget until I figure it out. I wonder if it’s a permission problem on the files?

Perhaps the best thing to do is try the latest dev version as I’ve updated the freecap files to be properly included in the zip you get from WordPress.org. I’ve done a compare and they match the files I’m using on my test site.

However, be warned that the latest dev version contains multiple form support. For the most part, my testing shows this feature works but I’m still awaiting feedback. 🙂

Thanks TDO. I’m a little reluctant to replace the current version with a dev version so will stick to the 1 question capatcha for the moment although if you can tell me what the file permissions should be I will check them.

benz1, I’ve officially released 0.10, so you should be okay to upgrade. If you still have problems with the image capatch please tell me.
