changing language file doesn't affect search box labels

I was trying to change the “your location” “search radius” and “results” label on my search page. I changed them all in the language file and re-uploaded the po and mo files (wpsl-en_US.po, and wpsl-en_US.mo). All the changes i made in the backed are showinging but not these changes on the front. Any ideas?
