Hi
Could you provide a link to your site?
Did you check your steps thanks to the getting started: http://plugins.svn.wordpress.org/polylang/doc/polylang-getting-started.pdf ?
I think I did everything like the manual says, but still get 404.
Is the latest posts page supported by the plugin? Or is it mandatory to use the static homepage?
Is the latest posts page supported by the plugin?
Yes.
Could you provide a link to your site?
1) Did you resave your Polylang settings?
2) Did you create a /en in your directory? If yes, you must delete it, then resave your Permalinks and Polylang settings.
3) Does WordPress 4.4 works on the server with only your theme without any plugins?
1. Yes, last time before leaving previous message
2. No
3. Yes, fresh install with only one theme and a backup plugin
1) Could you provide some screenshots of:
* Post > All post, where appear your translated posts,
* Settings > Languages > Settings tab : Url modifications
* Settings > Languages > Languages tab, where appear the languages that you have created,
* Appearance > Menus, your English menu ?
You can upload them via http://snag.gy and link to them here. Please don’t cut the left menu and the admin to bar on your screenshots.
2) Have you a specific configuration with Nginx?
Thank you for all these informations.
Could you rename your .htaccess, then resave your Permalinks? It will generate a new .htaccess.
Well, didn’t help, still redirects to /en/ and gives a 404..
Maybe it’s a good idea to try reinstalling everything))
wilmade.com
I have the exact same problem. New installation, everything worked fine. I activated Polylang and created 2 languages: 1. English, 2. Dutch. English is set as main language. However, when I go to settings > languages > and select pretty permalinks, my website goes down and I get error 404 all the time. The url is automatically directed to wilmade.com/nl.
Found a temporary solution: change the main language under settings > languages > settings, for me it helped to change it to Dutch instead of English.
Let me know if there is an update!
Oh wait, changing language only fixed the homepage 🙁 The other news articles / pages do not work.
