Blog Pagination

Another question that I don’t see if anyone has asked yet. On my blog page: http://www.valisemag.com/blog

I have set to show 9 posts per page, but there is some massive pagination at the bottom (like… 34 pages of it!). I’ve turned on infinite scroll in Jetpack, but it seemed to have no impact. Is there any way to improve the UX/reader experience with either infinite scroll (via button click) or condensing the pages such that they read “1 2 3 … 34” ?
