• Hi to everyone!

I’ve a problem and I can’t resolve it with Attributes and Variations in Variable product on Woocommerce.

In Products->Attributes I created ATTRIBUTE 1 and ATTRIBUTE 2. In Configure terms I added terms like following:

    ATTRIBUTE 1
    • Variant A
    • Variant B
    • Variant C
    • Variant D

    ATTRIBUTE 2
    • Variant 1
    • Variant 2
    • Variant 3
    • Variant 4

I added a new ‘Variable product’. In ‘Attribute’ added ATTRIBUTE 1 and ATTRIBUTE 2
Then in ‘Variations’ I create variation by ‘Add variation’ and not by ‘Create variations from all attributes’. So I create variations one by one.
In this case all work perfectly because ATTRIBUTE 1 have Variant A-B-C-D and ATTRIBUTE 2 have Variants 1-2-3-4.

After update to Woocommerce 2.4.12 ATTRIBUTE 1 have variant of ATTRIBUTE 1 and ATTRIBUTE 2. The same thing for ATTRIBUTE 2.
    Following the results:

    ATTRIBUTE 1
    • Variant A
    • Variant B
    • Variant C
    • Variant D
    • Variant 1
    • Variant 2
    • Variant 3
    • Variant 4

    ATTRIBUTE 2
    • Variant A
    • Variant B
    • Variant C
    • Variant D
    • Variant 1
    • Variant 2
    • Variant 3
    • Variant 4

For one variable product I’ve about 180 variants. If every Woocommerce update I will give this results is a big problem for me…….I need about 3 days to reconfigure all variants with price, weight, stock, size and so on.

If someone with same problem can help me I appreciate it a lot.

    WordPress 4.4 and Woocommerce 2.4.12

Thanks and have a nice day,
    Daniele

  • Hmm. I’m about to upgrade a site with hundreds of variants for products to 2.4.12, so I’ll see if my stuff gets messed up. I’ll come back and let you know if I do.

Have you ever used the CSV Import/Export tool for WooCommerce: https://www.woothemes.com/products/product-csv-import-suite/

This allows you to manage your products using spreadsheets, which makes it MUCH easier to see if things have gone wrong, as well as to update prices or other attributes.

    hi ancawonka,
    thaks for your reply.
Could you send me the link of the web site you want update?

    Thanks,
    Daniele

I usually do the updates in a local development environment first, so I don’t have to scramble if things go wrong too much.

I just went from 2.4.10 WooCommerce to 2.4.12 – so far it looks like products and variants are okay.

When you upgraded to WooCommerce 2.4.12, what version were you on before?

My installation is in local with MAMP.
Current WooCommerce version is 2.4.12 and I done only one upgrade from the previous version.
But the problem is when I make a bulk variations modification.

Can I see your website so I check if is my case?

    Thanks,
    Daniele

Hey @arcoor. Sorry for the long delay, but I got sick over the holidays and have just gotten myself back together. Did you figure out what the issue is?

We haven’t launched the site updated w/ WooCommerce 2.4.12, but noticed that when we tried to import some products (with just 12 variants each) we were getting multiple copies of images and some issues with the “in stock” product status.

How are you doing on your project?

    Hi,
I hope you got happy holidays.
I dropped the variants and create non variable products.

    🙁
